Student Spotlight

Zachary Lynch

Zachary graduated from Ivy Mount School, in Rockville, Maryland. He is currently receiving his training at ARTiculate in reading, math, life skills, and art, of course. He is an intern at the Smithsonian Institution gaining data entry experience and training with a job coach. Zach has an amazing memory for film and music. When Zach doesn’t talk about art, he is talking about food. Zachary is a foodie! He loves talking about the new foods he tried and their delicious tastes.

Zachary recently celebrated his bar mitzvah at Temple Micah. The bar mitzvah experience was so special to Zach and everyone was so proud of him, that he was commissioned to make a piece of artwork. The artwork was “to have his artistic commentary on his Torah portion ‘Mishpatim’.” Zachary’s portion was Exodus 24:1-18, which stated “and Moses went up into the mount, and the cloud covered the mount. And the glory of the LORD adobe upon mount Sinai…” Zach’s artwork titled, Mt.Sinai is wonderfully detailed; he paid close attention to representing the symbols that are important to him and his religion. He depicted a beautiful mixed media piece representing and relating to his Torah Story.
